Personal Training Program
It can be hard to figure out your own fitness training, especially if you’re new to working out. A personal trainer takes the guesswork out of things, helping you plan and stay on track. Here’s how a personal trainer can help you reach your fitness goals.
- Accountability & Support: They help keep you accountable and offer positive encouragement and support.
- Goal Progression: A trainer can help you identify goals, map out a plan, and track and measure progress.
- Education: They will educate you on proper form and other aspects of health and fitness.
- Variety: Things stay fresh and fun with the customized workout plans a trainer can create.
A personal trainer will help you set realistic and attainable goals, form good habits, keep you accountable, and encourage you to find joy in exercise.

Sarah Fallon
I received my certification in 2025, but I am not new to the fitness game. I have participated in several different races of various lengths over the years, including a half marathon that I came second place in. I love going on long runs but with that being said, I was in a pretty serious car accident in 2021 that almost took my passion away from me. I had to relearn how to distance run while overcoming an abdominal injury that had almost cost me my life. I wanted to get into personal training because fitness journeys aren't always linear and that should be acknowledged. People don't always start down their wellness paths in ideal situations. I like the idea of working with people to change the mindset of what is possible for them. I look forward to seeing exercise go from being a chore, to being a joy for clients.
I live in Wooster with my husband, my two kids, two dogs, and a rabbit named Jasper. When not running or at the gym, I enjoy reading, journaling and baking.

Karrie McAllister
Karrie received her personal training
license through the American Council on
Exercise in 2020. Before that she held
certifications in group exercise, yoga,
tabata, and Zumba. Which as classes you
will still find her instructing here at the
YMCA.
Although her first love at the YMCA was
group fitness, Karrie eventually learned to
love lifting heavier weights and the way it
made her body feel. she believes that
training for function as we age is
extremely important, and she love to
share that information with others.
Karrie grew up in Cleveland but for
the past 20 years she has lived in
Orrville with her husband, their three
(grown) children, and her beloved
dogs. She loves outdoor recreation
during all of the seasons, so if you see
her outside of the YMCA, chances are
she will be wearing a bike or ski
helmet.

FAQs
These are some of our more frequently asked questions!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN AN AVERAGE SESSION?
The first session will focus on health history, physical assessments, and discussion around goals and interests. The following sessions will focus on an exercise routine that facilitates progression toward your goals.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SIGN UP?
Please reach out to the personal trainer and fill out the health and personal goal assessment form to go over your goals and find a day and time that works best for you. Once a schedule is determined, you can then register and purchase the personal training session that best fits those needs.
CAN I REQUEST A PERSONAL TRAINER?
Yes, if that particular trainer has time available during your desired workout time.
BENEFITS OF A PERSONAL TRAINER?
Most of us know we need to exercise more, but don't know where to start, what to do, or how much/how often to do it. The benefits depend on your particular needs and goals. Personal trainers assess their clients and make a customized, progressive exercise plan. For experienced exercisers, personal trainers can assist clients in breaking through plateaus or boredom by selecting exercises that will continue to challenge the body in new ways.
I HAVE PRE-EXISTING INJURIES/CONDITIONS?
At the first session, any pre-existing injuries should be discussed with the personal trainer so he or she can modify an exercise routine to best address that issue. If the injury or condition is something that would jeopardize your safety while exercising, a medical clearance may be requested from your physician. In any case you and your trainer will address these concerns.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Fill out a Personal Training Request form at your local YMCA of Wayne County Branch. The staff will pass on the request to the appropriate personal trainer, who will call you to schedule your first appointment. Personal training fees must be paid prior to the first appointment.
