YMCA of Wayne County Class Descriptions
Fitness Fusion: Combines high intensity with simplicity and variety; total body toning, strength training, plyometrics, and cardio. This class ‘fuses’ many workouts together.
Full Body Blast: Toning Class designed to work large and small muscles. this class will focus on body weight and dumbbells as our main tools.
Kettlebells/Battleropes: This class consists of half battling ropes and half kettlebells.
Pilates: This mat class will help develop core strength, improved posture and prevent injury.
PIYO: Unleash your power with Pilates, Yoga and nonstop movement. You will sweat, stretch and strengthen all in one workout. Define exactly how you want to look and feel. No weights, no bulk, just hard core results.
Silver Sneakers – Cardio Circuit: Cardio class with a chair for stability.
Silver Sneakers – Cardio Fit: Heart healthy low impact aerobic focused on building upper body and core strength with added cardio resistance.
Silver Sneakers – Classic: This is a chair based class for muscle strength and range of motion.
Silver Sneakers – Stretch: This is a chair based yoga and stretch class.
Spinning: This is a workout designed to stimulate real road cycling technique. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist, Spinning will take you to the next level.
Stretch it Out: This is a Yoga-Pilates blend class, with a majority focus on stretching.
Super Fit: A terrific way to cross train or get all around strength, cardio, and core workout. This intense class will challenge you with weights, bands, steps, and balls, mixed with high impact cardio segments.
Tabata: A class for men and women, high intensity interval training fun.
Yoga: A physical, mental, and spiritual practice originating from India.
Zumba: Using a variety of dances in its routines as well as interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms to help burn a maximum amount of calories.
